Transforming cancellations into memories
Edinburgh based company Flotation Energy donated 15 rooms to Respitality after receiving cancellations for a Xmas event they were due to attend. We were able to allocate 3 of the rooms. Linda, a parent carer from East Dunbartonshire was one of the recipients.
On receiving the donation, she said:
“I’m so excited! I’d like to ask my daughter if she would like to come with me. I can go to the Christmas market, and it will just be a simple relaxing stay in a hotel with breakfast cooked for us! We will do a few outside walks and maybe even a hot chocolate with her in St Andrews square park! Thank you so much."
It brought such relief to me to see her manage things she normally wouldn’t and I’m really encouraged knowing I was able to keep her within her window of tolerance. After the stay, Linda got back in touch again with her feedback:
“I just wanted to say how thankful I am for the trip away. My daughter came with me and we made it to Dynamic Earth together for a couple of hours! The rest of the time we chilled and had takeaway food, coffee and binge watched movies. It was amazing! I’m so proud of her for making it past the front door!"
